Metal Detectors are used to protect crushers, belts and other downstream equipment from tramp metal contamination. If left unhampered, digger teeth, drill rods, crusher plates, bars, chains, nuts and bolts are all extremely hazardous to crushers, shredders and other types of processing machinery. This may cause serious damage to the processing machinery. Therefore, metal detectors are designed to automatically stop the conveyor belt when such items are detected.
